What is a trade publication?

A trade publication is one where all of the content and everyone who works on it are focused on one specific trade/industry. With this focus comes some degree of expertise/authority for the writers. Typically they are owned or operated by associations/trade groups. The library has a guide with a table to show the differences between popular magazines, trade publications, and scholarly journals.
